What is tree support?
The When: Occasionally, a tree will present with poor structure that has a higher likelihood of snapping or eventually falling.
The Why: Cabling and bracing can provide you with options to retain a tree with support and reduce risk of large failures. It can give the the tree time to adapt to certain stresses while the tree support systems take some of the load.
The How: Depending on the tree and the structural defects presented, a number of systems can be used. These vary from steel rods, rods and steel catch cables or heavy duty rope cables.
